Angophora look like eucalypts but lack the cap over the flower bud. They were not favoured for timber or firewood and so are quite common throughout Mandeni Park. The larger trees sometimes have bark very similar to Red Bloodwood, but they have opposite leaves, while Bloodwood leaves are alternate. The Angopohra gum net has strong ridges runnign down the sides, while the Bloodwood's are smooth-sided and goblet shaped.

The tree just to the East of the first dormitory has struggled to survive after its roots were damaged during laying of the water line. A better example is located near the 9th Green.
