Purple Flag, Patersonia longifolia, is a tufted herb, that grows to 60cm tall. The distinctive purple flowers typically appear in October, although the example below was photographed in mid September.

Each leaf is sword like, with a black tip. The flowers develop on the leaf tips.

Purple Flag grows on well drained, sandy soils. They occur around the Hammock Hilton area at Manna Park, such as at coordinates 07 57 702, 59 19 164.
