The Wonga wonga vine, Pandorea pandorana, flowers in early spring. A cultivar called “Golden Showers” varies from the native plant in having yellow / golden coloured flowers.
It occurs in moist forests of eastern Australia, often in disturbed or cleared areas. It grows in sun or shade on a variety of soils, and is a popular garden plant. The vine can climb to the tops of trees, where it drops seeds which have a wing; allowing them to disperse on the wind.
Manna Park throughout early September. Examples can be easily accessed on the fire trail near Ford Creek, at map coordinates 58 232, 18 832.
