The dusty undersides of the laves and sunken veins are characteristic of Pomaderris, and the Plum Leaf Pomaderris has much smaller and more rounded leaves than Hazel Pomaderris. Moths and butterfly larvae feed on the foliage.

Common on rocky slopes and along creeks on the east coast of Australia, except around Sydney where there are small, threatened populations. These examples found along the bike track between the carpentry centre and Manna Park Hostel, at map coordinates 58 289, 19 220.
