The Long-leaf Wax-Flower, Philotheca myoporoides, is a member of the Rutaceae family. They were previously called Eriostemon myoporoides, until thee was a revision of the genus. There are several subspecies, Philotheca myoporoides subsp. Myoporoides, is shown here. In the wild it is common and widespread, in heath and dry sclerophyll forest in shallow soils, often associated with watercourses, or on rocky hillsides. These photos taken of an example found in the garden in front of the Cottage at Manna Park. Click on either photograph to download a higher resolution image (T. Hastings September 2009). |
