The genus Correa was named­ after Jose Francisco Correa de Serra (1750-1823), a Portuguese botanist who published several papers on the plant family Rutaceae. The species name reflexa comes from the Latin word reflexus, which means turned or bent backwards, and refers to the tips of the flowers.

Common correa is widespread, growing along Australia’s east and south coasts. It occurs in mountain forests and dry mallee-scrub,­ which together with its geographical distribution indicates a high degree of adaptability.

At Manna Park, Common Correa can be found on slopes such as on the XC Mountain Bike Track, near the Water Tank at map coordinates 58 408, 19 088.
