Rough Guinea Flower, Hibbertia aspera, is a tiny plant with small leaves and flowers, growing to only 60cm tall.


As seen in the close-up photograph, bottom right, the leaves are covered in tiny hairs, which makes them rough to the touch. In this picture each vertical line is 1mm apart.


Rough Guinea Flower is found all along the east-coast of Australia. The examples shown here are found on the XC Mountain Bike Track, on the ridge above Manna Park Hostel. In the drier, disturbed areas it is the most common of the plants at ground level.
