This Moth feeds on Myrtaceae plants, including Eucalypts, Leptospermum (Tea-tree) and Kunzea. They sit camouflaged one trunk during the day, and fly up to feed on the foliage at night.

Eggs are laid on a leaf of a food plant, covered with hairs form the females body. Caterpillars hatch, follow each other in a procession.

The large antennae, furry body and arrangement of wing markings seen here all match the Epicoma genus of Moths, but this particular individual does not exactly match any available photographed species. Click the picture to download a higher resolution image (T.Hastings September 2009)
