Eastern Water Skink Eulamprus quoyii |

The Eastern Water Skink, Eulamprus quoyii, like to sunbake on rocks and logs, as shown here. It is about 10cm long from nose to the start of the tail. They like to eat insects, freshwater shrimp, and even other lizards.
They are coppery-brown to golden-brown on top, with irregular black flecks or blotches. A yellowish stripe leads back from the head, above black flanks leadng down the greyish underside, both with irregular dots.
