Swamp wallabies are quite different from most wallabies and kangaroos, they are browsers rather than grazers and love to eat roses and other exotic garden shrubs as well as every native tree and shrub we planted in the rainforest.   They are usually timid but can easily be seduced with offerings of tasty vegetables in drought times.

Apart from their generally darker colouring they are easily recognised by the way they flee – tail held straight out and body low, whereas kangaroos tend to jump with their tails held in an arc.
