This Glossy Black Cockatoo is a regular visitor in certain seasons when it comes to eat the nuts of the causarinas, Allocasuarina littoralis.   They have their favorite feed trees which have been found to have a higher than average protein content.   Feed trees are found by looking for chewed nuts on the ground under the tree. Feed trees known at Mandeni include:

- one just to the east of the small dam east of “Mandeni”

- at the entrance to Cabin 20, and

- in the mini golf area.
